Afternoon snack

Every fall I ask friends to donate their “used” pumpkins for my sheep. The sheep love pumpkin and made short order of the two I threw out for them this afternoon. In less than an hour there was not a scrap of pumpkin left.

The top photo is a mother (pure white) and daughter (tri-color) while the bottom photo also includes the grand-daughter / daughter (black eye patch). All the ewes should be bred and lambs are expected in early February.

  1. So these are Halloween pumpkins or Thanksgiving pumpkins that have been cleaned of seeds? I am glad the sheep are able to get a healthy snack from the pumpkins.

    • These were whole pumpkins that I threw hard enough to crack so the sheep could open them up and eat them. I have given them Halloween pumpkins as well as long as the pumpkin hasn’t started to mold.
